How to remove control panel applets

You can use this tips to remove the Control Panel applets.

  1. Start regedit.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel.
  3. Created new key named don't load.
  4. On the right pane, create new String Value for each each control panel applet you want removed.
Here are the Windows XP Pro Control Panel applets: Add or remove programs = appwiz.cpl
Accessibility Options = access.cpl
Add Hardware Wizard = hdwwiz.cpl
Network Connections = ncpa.cpl
ODBC Administrator = odbccp32.cpl
Display Properties = desk.cpl
Internet Properties = Inetcpl.cpl
Game Controllers = joy.cpl
Phone and modem Options = telephon.cpl
Time and Date Properties = timedate.cpl
Region and Language Options = intl.cpl
Power Options = powercfg.cpl
Mouse Properties = main.cpl
Sound and Audio Devices = mmsys.cpl
System Properties = sysdm.cpl
Speech Properties = sapi.cpl
User Accounts = nusrmgr.cpl
